Abiquo Adds Seasoned Sales Executives to Extend Company Growth

Has hired Steve Soechtig as VP Global Sales and Nick Wetton as VP Regional Sales

Abiquo, a cloud management software provider, on Tuesday  announced that it has hired Steve Soechtig as VP Global Sales and Nick Wetton as VP Regional Sales. Abiquo’s new sales executives will be responsible for leading Abiquo’s global and U.S. sales initiatives and expanding overall market adoption. They bring more than 40 years of combined enterprise software sales and management experience, most recently with CA Technologies, and will be instrumental in helping Abiquo take advantage of its market momentum.

The new sales executives are joining Abiquo at a time of accelerated growth. Abiquo recently opened its U.S. headquarters with $5.1 million in Series A funding and launched the company at Cloud Computing Expo in New York City as well as Cloud Expo Europe in Prague. In addition, Abiquo was recently shortlisted for Best Enterprise Software and Best Virtualization Product by the Cloud Computing World Series Forum and selected as one of the top 15 Cloud companies to watch by Network World.

Steve Soechtig: Abiquo VP Global Sales
Steve Soechtig joined Abiquo to expand the enterprise sales team and to work with customers interested in solving their cloud computing challenges. Steve brings a track record of success in building fast-growth sales and services teams, serving most recently as VP of Western Area Sales for CA Technologies. Prior to joining CA (NASDAQ:CA), Steve spent five years as the SVP of Sales and Services for Orchestria, which was sold to CA in January 2009. Steve has also held sales and services management positions at Roundarch, Pivotal Software (NASDAQ: CDCS), Deloitte Consulting, and AT&T (NYSE: T).

A resident of Colorado, Steve holds a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and a masters degree from DePaul University in Chicago.

Nick Wetton: VP Regional Sales
Nick has over 20 years experience in sales, business development and general management positions in both U.K. and U.S. Corporations. Prior to Abiquo, Nick worked for CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA), where he was VP of Security Solution Sales and led CA’s market focus on data resource protection. Nick joined CA as part of CA’s acquisition of Orchestria, where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for worldwide sales. Nick has an excellent track record across a variety of technology businesses in corporate environments holding senior positions in BT plc and ICL Fujitsu, with a particular focus on Financial Services markets. Nick initially started his career in International Banking.

A resident of New York, Nick holds a bachelors degree from the University of London and a masters degree from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
